And, although today AT&T runs the company, bell south email users still have access to their accounts. Thankfully, you can use Outlook to configure your email account so that you can access it whenever you want. Changing the bell south email password

Forgetting your password is not a joke especially when you are running a tight schedule due to a project. There are many reasons why a person may not remember the account password. Sometimes when I’m overstressed, I tend to forget my password only because I have too many things in my mind.  Thankfully, I have created a secured mail key that allows me to change my password whenever I want. To create the password or secured mail key you would need to

  • Go to the profile page of your Bellsouth account and click on the option- Login info
  • To set up the secure mail key you need to choose the Bellsouth email account that you want
  • Go to the Secure mail keys section and choose the option – Manage secure mail keys settings.
  • Choose – Add a secure mail key
  • Provide the new security code a name for easy reference.
  • To create a new secure key, select – Create secure email key
  • If you want a copy of the key then choose – Copy secure mail key
  • Once you are done click – OK

After completing this process, you can then go back to relaunch Outlook and use the new security key to change the email account password. If the problem is resolved by this step, then it is good otherwise move on to the next step.

Correct configuration of the bell south email

It is not a surprising thing if there is a problem with the configuration or settings. Sometimes, the settings can go wrong automatically if there have been recent issues with the app. You may also face such an issue when you have entered the incorrect settings. If this is the reason why you are facing issues, then check the settings that are mentioned below and make the necessary changes.

  • First, go to Add Account located under the File menu of Outlook
  • Then choose Additional server types or Manual setup and select Next
  • Choose either IMAP or POP and then click Next
  • Provide the required account information

Incoming Mail Server – inbound.att.net

Outgoing Mail Server – outbound.att.net

  • Then choose the option – More Settings
  • Click on Advance and enter the following values

Incoming Server Port – 995

Outgoing Server Port – 465

  • For those who are using the IMAP server, the settings will be

Incoming Mail Server – imap.mail.att.net

Outgoing Mail Server – stmp.mail.att.net

Incoming Server Port – 993

Outgoing Server Port – 465 or 587

Updating the bell south email on Outlook

There are various reasons why you may face issues with your email account, especially on Outlook. If you feel that there could be a problem with the Outlook, you can fix it by

  • Open the Outlook Web App
  • Click on Options under the Settings menu after logging in to you bell south email
  • Open Edit Information in the Accounts menu located on the navigation pane on the left.
  • Make the changes that you want and then choose – Save.

Enabling the Email Forwarding option

If you are facing issues with sending or receiving emails from the bell south email ID, then you need to check if you have activated the Automatic Forwarding option. I would suggest that you deactivate the option and then see if you are getting emails or not. Another option would be to set up the alternate email address that you have set up as your forwarding mail ID on outlook. This way you can still receive all your emails.

Antivirus software creating issues
